because they need energy i think its what i learned
FYI I asked this question but I want to add that the half hour walk is on flat terrain, asphalt actually and I am 5'5" and 250 lbs (which is why I've been walking, usually longer but I'll take any walking I can get) if that factors in at all. Thanks for any help!
No, a cube is not aerodynamic. A cube has a flat face, so it will produce more drag. It will also take more energy to push forward because the flat face of the cube is trying to push the wind as you are pushing the cube.
A penny is 3/4 of an inch tall, and this is assuming that you are laying the pennies flat on the ground, top to bottom. A kilometer is roughly 40 million inches, so a simple mathematical equation can be used to figure it out. One kilometer of pennies will thus be roughly worth about $524,934.38
Yes, It requirs more energy when walking on a slope than a flat surface
Walking uphill requires more energy because you are fighting against gravity to lift your body weight higher. This increases the work your muscles have to do compared to walking on a flat surface where the force required is mainly to overcome friction. Walking uphill also increases your heart rate and breathing rate to provide muscles with more oxygen for the increased work.
Walking on level ground is moving balance weight. This requires far less energy than walking uphill or downhill. Walking uphill burns almost twice as many calories as walking in flat land. Walking downhill burns more than walking on flat land simple because you are transferring weight down and in doing so you move your total weight down on one leg at a time. Walking downhill uses about half the extra energy walking uphill compared to walking on flat land. If your knees will permit you to walk up and downhill, you will not only burn more calories, but the muscles in your legs will strength and you will have far less body fat on your legs. I have a pretty steep hill I walk daily. It is the main factor for me being able to control my weight. Invest thirty days and experiment with this. You will be pleasantly surprised and will be able to control your weight in the future. I wish there was a way for people desiring to lose weight to find out about it. There is more of a chance for a knee injury. Be careful.
Much of the meaning of this dream lies in the emotions you experience while the dream is taking place. The hill represents some difficulty that you are facing in real life. Compare the dream image with the expression "it's an uphill climb." Walking uphill usually takes more energy and is more tiring than walking on a flat surface or walking downhill.
Walking down stairs requires more energy because your muscles are actively working to control and stabilize your body as you descend. The muscles need to lengthen to control the gravitational force pulling you down the stairs, resulting in more energy expenditure compared to walking on a flat surface where the muscles are primarily working to propel you forward.
depends on how far you walk, are you going uphill, downhill or is it flat? if you walk on a flat area then you will not burn as much as the other two, uphill you will burn the most. all in all you will not burn a lot of calories unless you walk a pretty good distance and even a couple miles of flat land will only burn around 70 calories. a couple miles uphill could burn over 150.
down hill 250 mph and uphill 228 mph and flat 300
Uphill work increases cardiovascular endurance, muscle strength, and calorie burn compared to exercising on flat ground. It also challenges the heart and lungs, leading to improved overall fitness and stamina.
Robert walks from town A to town B, he must pass a hill and a section of a flat road. His speed of walking uphill is 3km/hour, on a flat road is 5km/hour and a downhill is 6km/per hour. Robert's average speed from town A to town B is 4.2.km/hour. What is his average speed from town B to town A?
Hiking will get you a very good workout for your legs when going uphill it doubles the amount of just hiking on flat ground.
Any car that has to go uphill requires more effort than on a flat surface or downhill. Mainly because uphill is steeper (in an up direction) which also pushes against gravity.
Going uphill takes more power than going on the flat, so unless you can add more power, you have to trade some speed for power to be able to go uphill.
