Becasue the given number is a compound number because it can be divivded by '2'

Remember all 'EVEN' numbers are those ending in 0,2,4,6,8 are even and can be divided by '2'.

Except for '2' itself, all prime numbers are odd.

A Prime number is divisible only by itself and one. By inspection this number is divisible by at least 10, 2 and 5 and thus is not prime.
