The snowbelt is a number of regions near the Great Lakes in North America. It is called this because these areas experience heavy snowfall in lake-effect form.
A snowbelt is a region that receives a larger than average aggregate snowfall. Snowbelts often occur in areas that are on the downwind side of a large lake because of the potential for absorption of large amounts of moisture off the lake.
ok, wow. where do you think? in state, and outa state. u could get water from your back yard.
i don't know the answer to that but all i know is on average London Ontario gets about 210cm or 80 inches. and we are no longer in the snowbelt so i think its more like 70 inches.
The northwest part in the Snowbelt region is very flat. This includes the counties of Erie, Crawford, and Mercer. Also around Philadelphia since its close to the Atlantic Ocean. This is just from personally experience, I don't know if these are entirly true though.
Somewhere on the net tonight I read that the author said she based it on Edinboro, Pennsylvania. Looking that up, I found it to be a small town in Erie County, near Lake Erie in the Northwest corner of the state, inside the "snowbelt." The same source said that Mr. Chris and others are based on people that actually lived there.
The United States Snow Belt refers to the region in the northern part of the country that typically experiences heavy snowfall in the winter due to the presence of cold air masses from Canada. States in the Snow Belt include areas in the Great Lakes region and the Northeast, such as New York, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Snow Belt areas often rely on snow removal and winter weather preparations to manage the impact of heavy snowfall.
