Angles are one of the key essential requirements in geometry. How do you define a rectangle from a rhombus? Both have 4 sides, both have two pairs of parallel lines (they are both parallelograms). The answer? Angles. The rectangle has 4 90 degree angles, while the rhombus doesn't have any 90 degree angles. (In fact, a 90 degree angle is called a "right angle.")

And in more complicated mathematics, you can use angles to calculate angular velocities (which helps you calculate rpms).

Angles like numbers are everywhere. If you ever do anything with carpentry or woodworking (or most craft projects), you will need an understanding of angles.
