No, not if the pilot is good at flying the plane.
Over my thirty years of flying I did manage to have a plane crash, so yes it does happen. The object of flying though is to not touch anything while you are flying and allow only the wheels to touch anything while landing. This prevents most problems along those lines.
Statically a typical small engine fixed wing aircraft will have a problem every 2000 hours. How you handle those situations (and where they happen) will determine how likely you are to crash.
There is nothing worse then standing next to a bunch of crumpled up metal and waiting for help.

There are many more buses than passenger airplanes, so even though buses can be safer per passenger mile, there are more bus crashes. You WAY more likely to be in a bus crash, then in a plane crash. thousands, and thousands of car/automobile's crash every year. And only about a few hundred plane's crash a year.

Nowdays, unfortunately, 1-3 months. well over 1500 planes take off at once and at lest 1 plane crashes but really it depends on when ever their doesn't have to be a plane crash though.
