You must order 5 pizzas. That will give you (5 x 8) = 40 people's worth.

You will serve your 35 guests, and quietly return the 5 leftover pieces to the fridge.
They will stay there until the 35 guests leave, at which time you will microwave the
leftover 5 pieces and eat them yourself.
