Gardeners who wish to dig square or rectangular flowerbeds in a lawn have long used a pratical method based on Pythagoras theorum. To ensure that the flower beds have right angle corners three bamboo canes of lengths 3 feet, 4 feet and 5 feet are joined together to form a triangle. As the squares of 3 (9) and 4 (16) added together give the square of 5 (25) this is practical proof of the theory.
Another simple example of a situation which could utilize the Pythagorean theorem is if you had to reach a certain part on a wall (side A) with a ladder (Side C - the hypotenuse) and you have an obstacle on the ground so your ladder has to be a certain distance away from the wall (Side A), which could be represented as Side B. If we let A=15 ft and B=5 ft, we can use the Pythagorean theorem to find that the ladder (C) would need to be about 15.8 ft long.

To verify that two triangles are similar, you can use several similarity postulates and theorems. The most common ones include: **AA Similarity Postulate (Angle-Angle Similarity Postulate):** If two angles of one triangle are congruent to two angles of another triangle, then the two triangles are similar. This postulate relies on the similarity of corresponding angles. **SAS Similarity Theorem (Side-Angle-Side Similarity Theorem):** If two pairs of corresponding sides of two triangles are in proportion, and their included angles are congruent, then the two triangles are similar. This theorem involves both sides and angles. **SSS Similarity Theorem (Side-Side-Side Similarity Theorem):** If the corresponding sides of two triangles are in proportion, then the two triangles are similar. This theorem only considers the proportions of the sides. These postulates and theorems are fundamental principles of triangle similarity and are used to establish whether two triangles are indeed similar. Remember that similarity means that the corresponding angles are equal, and the corresponding sides are in proportion.
If you meant "Pythagorean Theorem" , the uses are almost infinite. It is associated with finding the length of the "hypotenuse" of any right-angled triangle, given that the other two sides are known. However, a modified version of the Pythagorean Theorem allows us to find the length of any one side of any triangle, given that we know the other two sides, and the angle between them. In physics, many calculations are based on the Pythagorean Theorem. For Example, The use of Trigonometric Parallax allows us to calculate the distance to relatively near stars. It involves the usage the Sun, Earth and the star in question as vertices of the right-angled triangle.
A general understanding of math will probably get you by. You must be able to add and subtract fractions easily and quickly as alot of the work involves measurements that must be precise. A person wanting to advance should have a good understanding of Trig and Geometry. Alot of our layout work involves squares, circles, triangles, and rectangles. YOU MUST KNOW HOW TO READ A TAPE...

The triangle concerned MUST be a right-angle triangle. If one of the angles is not 90 degrees, you cannot use the Pythagorean theorem! Also, it must be remembered that the theorem only involves the magnitudes (lengths of the sides), you can't use it on i-j-k vectors or the like, only their magnitudes. As a result, it cannot tell us anything about the directions or angles between lines. Other than that, the Pythagorean theorem is incredibly sound!

To propitate a situation is to appease or pacify it, often through actions or offerings meant to calm or soothe the circumstances at hand. It involves making amends or taking steps to mitigate any negative outcomes that may arise from the situation.
There definitely can be another one of something. This really depends on your situation and what it involves for example.
