lets start with the Equitions
1. x + y = 26
2. 4x + y = 20
Now Multiply equation 1 by 4
1. 4x + 4y = 104
2. 4x + y = 20
Now subtract equation 2 from equation 1
you get
3y = 84
y=28
Now divide 28 by 4 because we mulitplied equation 1 by 4
you get 7 so the age to the brother is 7 and three years back the age was 4
the age of the sister is 19 and three years back the age was 16
so to prove that 3 years before sister age was 4 times the age of brother
you divide sister age from brother
you get 16/4 = 4
