You can't. A metre is a unit of length; a square foot is a measure of area.

That's almost like asking how many seconds are in a square foot; they measure different quantities.

An exception might be in measuring flooring where metre may be incorrectly used to mean square metre. And except in the US, metre is the correct spelling.
