You can't tell anything about the area from knowing only the perimeter.

There are an infinite number of rectangles that all have the same perimeter

but different areas.

Here are a few examples. All of these have perimeters of 5 miles:

2.45 miles x 88 yards . . . . . . . 78.4 acres

2.4 mi x 0.1 mile . . . . . . . . . . 153.6 acres

2.2 mi x 0.3 mi. . . . . . . . . . . . 422.4 acres

2 mi x 1/2 mi . . . . . . . . . . . . . 640 acres

1.9 mi x 0.6 mi . . . . . . . . . . . . 729.6 acres

1.8 mi x 0.7 mi . . . . . . . . . . . . 806.4 acres

1.7 mi x 0.8 mi . . . . . . . . . . . . 870.4 acres

1.6 mi x 0.9 mi . . . . . . . . . . . . 921.6 acres

1.5 mi x 1 mi. . . . . . . . . . . . . . 960 acres

1.4 mi x 1.1 mi. . . . . . . . . . . . . 985.6 acres

1.3 mi x 1.2 mi. . . . . . . . . . . . . 998.4 acres

1.25 mi x 1.25 mi (square) . . 1,000 acres
