Generally it is reckoned that 1 cup is 8oz, or 1 oz is 1/8 cup. But it is arguable that a cup is a measure of volume, not weight, so beware. If the recipe says "cups" then use cups. if it says oz, or grams use weights. Don't think you can be clever and beat the system. All this begs the question "how big is a cup?". One that holds 8oz water.
