You cant answer this unless you have proper measurements. Assuming that the pipe is a cylinder, using the equation V=(pi) r2 L

Where (pi) is 3.14159 and r is the radius of the pipe and L is the length of the pipe.

The question asks for Gallons, a unit of Volume. What is given is the length and width, used to find an area.

To find the volume of water in an 8-inch pipe that is 100 feet long, you first need to convert the dimensions to a common unit. Assuming the pipe is cylindrical, you can use the formula for the volume of a cylinder, which is πr^2h, where r is the radius of the pipe and h is the height (length). Converting the dimensions and calculating will give you the volume of water in the pipe, which can then be converted to gallons.

Assuming that the pipe is 1" in diameter on the inside (so, if it were a 1/8" thick pipe, the overall diameter would be 1.25"), then the volume would be approximately 8.16 gallons.

To get this, one would take the radius (1/2" in this case), multiply it by ∏, according to the formula Area of a circle = ∏r2. Take this and multiply it by 1200" (100'). This would be your volume in cubic inches. To go from there to gallons, use the conversion of 1gal = 231 cubic inches.

This will result in approximately 8.16 gallons.

1 gallon = 231 cubic inches

1 foot = 12 inches

100 feet = 1,200 inches

Volume of a cylinder = (pi) (Radius)2 (length)

Radius = 1/2 of diameter = 1/4 inch

Volume = (pi) (0.25)2 (1,200) = 235.62 cubic inches = 1.02 gallon (rounded)

That's the volume of the pipe. We have no way of knowing how much water

is in it. It could even be empty.

100 feet of 1" pipe holds about 4.1 gallons.

assuming 8in inner diameter and US Gallons:

pi * r^2 * length (all units must be the same)

pi * 4in^2 * 1200in = 60318.5789 cubic inches

60318.5789 = 261.12 Gallons

The capacity of 100-ft of 1.25-inch diameter pipe is 6.375 gallons. (rounded)

We have no way of knowing how much water is in it. Maybe it's empty.
