The animal with the strongest memory is often said to be the elephant. They can remember specific locations, recognize other animals, and recall complex social relationships over long periods of time.
Well, I think it's a dog. Here's why:
When you take a dog out for a walk and take off it's leash, the dog usually runs off. It always returns to you safely as it knows who you are. Some dogs also return their own HOMES when they are lost!
Updated by Viva9626; It's not a dog, it's an African elephant or Salmon. Both of them return to the place they were born just by memory, even if the scene changes. I'd say the Elephant is the best because it has a bigger brain, and elephant babies can lead themselves even if they get seperated. Salmon can't do that. And yes, it's true a dog can return to their home if they remember what direction it is in, like in Homeward Bound. (Not in that extreme situation tho)
The animal with the longest memory is the bottlenose dolphin. Dolphins can remember the specific calls of other dolphins for more than twenty years.
The dung beetle is considered the strongest animal pound for pound, as it can pull objects over 1,000 times its body weight.
