Perimeter is the sum of the edges.
In this example there are two edges of 11 miles and two edges of 1 mile so perimeter = 11 + 11 + 1 +1 = 24 miles
The area doesn't tell you the perimeter.-- If the square mile is inside a circle, then the perimeter (circumference) is 3.545 miles.-- If the square mile is inside a square, then the perimeter is 4.000 miles.-- If the square mile is inside rectangle that's 2 miles long and 1/2 mile wide,then the perimeter is 5.000 miles.-- If the square mile is inside a rectangle that's 10 miles long and 0.1 mile wide,then the perimeter is 20.2 miles...etc.The area doesn't tell you the perimeter.
That depends on the shape. 160 acres is one-forth of a square mile. If the plot of land is a square it will be 1/2 mile on each side, so the perimeter will be 2 miles. But it could also be 1 mile long and 1/4 mile wide, so the perimeter would be 2 1/2 miles.
1 square mile = 640 acres100 acres = (100/640) = (1/6.4) square miles = (1) x (1/6.4) square miles.If the 100-acre plot is rectangular and 1 mile long, it's (1/6.4) = 0.15625 mile = 825 feet wide.

Perimeter = 38+17+38+17 = 110 units of measurement

You can't tell. Knowing the area doesn't tell you the shape, the dimensions, or the perimeter. The shortest possible perimeter that encloses an acre is a circle with a circumference of 0.1401 mile. (rounded) The shortest possible trip around an acre with straight sides a square with a perimeter of 0.1581 mile. (rounded) But it can be anything greater than that. For example, a lot that's 660 feet long and 66 feet wide has an area of 1 acre, and a perimeter of 0.275 mile. And a long skinny strip, 1-ft wide and 43,560 feet long also has an area of 1 acre, and a perimeter of 16.5 miles.
52 miles.
2*(20 + 8) = 56 miles.
Mersea outdoors is 5 miles long and 2 miles wide
It cannot be done for most shapes.Additional answerYou need more information than just the perimeter. For example, if a circle of a certain perimeter were pushed so that it became a rectangle it would then occupy less area, although the perimeter would remain the same. You could have a rectangle with a length of 2 miles and a width of a millionth of a millimetre and it would not occupy much area at all, although it's 2 miles long. But make it only one mile long by a mile wide and its area would be much greater.
Illinois is 390 miles long north to south and 210 miles wide east to west.
A section was 1 mile by 1 mile. Townships were approximately 6 miles by 6 miles (36 square miles). To read more about the Public Land Survey System visit the Related Link.
Answer #1:the block perimeter is 1.4 + 1.4 + 1.8 + 1.8 = 6.4 miles. So if you go around once you already did 6 miles==========================Answer #2:Maybe you meant that the block is 1/4 mile long by 1/8 mile wide.If that's the case, then the perimeter is 2/4 + 2/8 = 3/4 mile, and in orderto total 6 miles, you must circumnavigate the block 8 times.
The state of Wisconsin is 54,314 square miles of land area. The state is 310 miles long and 260 miles wide.
It is 2 miles x 4 miles. Six miles square. Key West is 4 miles long and 2 mile wide on one half and only 1 mile wide on the other.
