A semiconductor diode is made of two semiconductore mterials type "p" and type "n" fused together, these two are connected to two leads, the all that is encased in epoxy.
When investigated with an ohm-meter, a transistor resembles two diodes connected "back-to-back". But you can't make a transistor by connecting two diodes back-to-back.

In case of diode, output (i.e current) is not directly propostional to it input(i.e voltage across it).From it governing equation I=I' * e^(V/V') ,where I' and V' is constant ,it is absolutly clear.

I think you mean 'diode valve'! A 'valve' is the British term for what Americans call 'tubes' or, more accurately, 'vacuum tubes'. So, a 'diode valve' is a thermionic valve generally used as a rectifier, much in the same way that a semiconducting diode is used, these days.

a close approximation of the forward current is an exponential function of voltage, but it has constants that must be empirically adjusted for accuracy. the reverse breakdown is a bit tricker to model accurately. The function look something like this: I = K1 eK2(V-K3)
