8 ft 6 in X 12 ft = 102 sq ft

102 sq ft X 4 tiles/sq ft = 408 tiles

Get a few extra in case some crack. You may be glad later that you had a few replacement tiles.

If my house is 78'x26' how many 16x16 floor tiles would i used to purchase to cover the floor?

78 feet = 78 x 12 inches = 936 inches. To line one side of this with 16" tiles will take 58 and a half tiles. 26 feet = 26 x 12 inches = 312 inches. To line one side of this with 16" tiles will take 19 and a half tiles. So, you will need to buy 59 x 20 tiles (to ensure that patterns match) = 1,180. If the tiles are plain then you can use one tile to give two half-tiles and will only need 1,141 tiles.
