By "whole number fractions" I presume you mean a whole number and a fraction - such as 37/8, or 41/4. To convert such numbers to percentages we first need to convert them to 'top-heavy' fractions. We do this by multiplying the integer by the denominator (the number below the line) of the fraction and adding the numerator (the number above the line) of the fraction to the result. 37/8 becomes . 24 + 7/8 or 31/8 41/4 becomes 16 + 1/4 or 17/4 What happens next depends on what we have been asked to find. If the question is something like "What percentage of 25 is 37/8?" we need to multiply the number which is 100% (in this case 25) by the denominator - 25 x 8 = 200 * Now we can divide the new numerator of the top-heavy fraction by the product we obtained, and multiply the result of that by 100. * 31 ÷ 200 = 0.155 ..... 0.155 x 100 = 15.5 * So now we know that 37/8 is equal to 15.5% of 25
However, if the question is something like "What percentage is 41/4 if 1 = 100% * We divide the new numerator by the denominator and multiply the result by 100 * 17 ÷ 4 = 4.25 ..... 4.25 x 100 = 425 * So now we know that 41/4 is 425% of 1
A nonzero whole number is a quantity which does not equal zero and number without fractions.
It is to change the whole into fractions
You cannot: whole numbers and improper fractions are disjoint sets.
A whole number
IN fractions yes
Because not all things are whole units.
True
Proper fractions are less than 1, so they can't change into whole numbers. Some improper fractions can change into whole numbers. 4/2 = 2 Most improper fractions change into mixed numbers (a whole number with a fraction) To change an improper fraction to a mixed number, divide the denominator into the numerator. The result is the whole number. The remainder gets put over the original denominator. 22/7 = 3 and 1/7
Factors refer to whole numbers, not fractions.
Whole numbers cannot be changed into proper fractions.
Proper fractions can't become whole numbers. Improper fractions can only become whole numbers if the numerator is a multiple of the denominator. To find out, divide the denominator into the numerator. If there is no remainder, it's a whole number.
Mixed Fractions are fractions that have whole numbers and fractions on the side.If you are trying to change them into improper fractions you take the denominator of the fraction and multiply it by the whole number and keep the same numerator. ex.: 2 and one fourth =
!1 who wrot3 dis guestion Ok...you can't change fractions into whole numbers...otherwise they wouldn't have been fractions to begin with :)
fractions are parts of a whole number
A simple fraction is a fraction that is a whole number divided by a whole number. Complex fractions can have fractions inside of fractions.
It is: 71% to the nearest whole number
Fractions are not whole numbers. They are fractions. You can call a fraction a whole number, but that doesn't make it one.
