If log(x) = y then log(x3) = 3*log(x) = 3*y

so that x3 = antilog(3*y)

So, to find the cibe of x

1) find log x

2) multiply it by 3

3) take the antilog of the result.

How can you apply the cube root formula in Excel?

There are several stages to the calculation. These can be summarized in the formula=10^(LOG(x)/3)Where x = the number you want to find the cube root of. Excel example:In cell A1 enter the number you want to find the cube root of. e.g. 125In cell B1 enter the formula '=10^(LOG(A1)/3)' [omitting the 'quote' marks]The formula will return the answer 5, which is the cube root of 125. [5x5x5=125] Explanation of formula: * LOG (x) converts the original number to a logarithm. * /3 divides the Log by three * 10^ raises 10 to the power of the result of the previous calculations The equals ('=') sign is required when writing formulas into cells in Excel.Unfortunately there is no short way to find the cube root in excel, but the square root can be found by using =SQRT(number) An infinite number of 'roots' can be found by using =10^(LOG(x)/3). Just change the '3' to a number of your choice.

How do you find logarithms using a calculator?

If you are using a scientific calculator you will have a key labelled "log". To find the logarithm (to base 10) of a number, simply enter "log" followed by the number that you want to log. If you want a natural logarithm - log to the base e - use the "ln" key instead. If you haven't got a scientific calculator, use the one on your computer.

What is the cube root of 100 and what is the working out?

The cube root of 100 can be written as 1001/3 or 3√100. There are many ways to determine the answer. One way is with the use of logarithms. 1) Convert 100 into logarithms. Using logs to the base 10 then log 100 = 2 2) To find the cube root divide log 100 by 3. Then 2/3 = 0.6666(recurring) 3) Using an antilogarithm system convert 0.6666 back into a decimal number = 4.6416 3√100 = 4.6416 (4dp)

How do you find out log value without using logarithm book?

One way to find log values without a logarithm book is to use the properties of logarithms. If you have a base and an exponent equal to a number, you can rewrite it in logarithmic form. Another method is to use a calculator or online tool to compute the log value of a number.

How do you Calculate the cube root of 7.2?

Here are four ways: (1). Take the log of 7. (You have to either look it up in a book, find it on a slide rule or calculator, or remember the infinite series definition of the log function and calculate the first 10 or 15 terms of the series.) Then take one third of the log. Then find the anti-log of the quotient. (2). There is a direct procedure to calculate the cube root of a number with a pencil and paper. Although I was working as a professional engineer before calculators and computers were generally available, I learned the pencil method for square roots, but not the one for cube roots. (3). Find the approximate cube root directly on a slide rule. (4). Use a hand-calculator, or a calculator simulator on a computer. These days, it's the only way that makes sense.

How do you find antilog of a negative number using a log table?

Well, darling, to find the antilog of a negative number using a log table, you first need to find the positive equivalent of the negative number. Add the negative number to the log base, and then look up the result in the log table to find the antilog value. Just remember, math doesn't have time for negativity, so keep it positive!
