only solids have "lateral area". triangles have "area". the area of a scalene triangle is given by heron's formula. height not needed.

What is the slant height of a cone formula?

The "slant height" is called the lateral height. There is no formula. However, if you find the radius of the base and the height of the cone, you can form a triangle. Now use the Pythagorean theorem. Radius2 + height2 = lateral height2.

Why is it helpful to know the slant height of a pyramid to find its surface area?

Knowing the slant height helps because it represents the height of the triangle that makes up each lateral face. So, the slant height helps you to find the surface area of each lateral face.

How do you calculate the area of a scalene triangle?

That depends on what you know about the triangle. The easiest way to calculate the area is to calculate (1/2) x base x height, where the base is any side, and the height is perpendicular to the base. Other formulae exist for special cases, for example, for the case that you only know the length of the three sides.

How do you find the area of a triangle with side lengths?

If you are only given the side lengths of a scalene triangle, it is impossible for you to find for the area, unless you are given more information... like the height of the triangle for example. If this is a right triangle you would like to find the area of, you can multiply the length of each leg with each other, and then divide that product by 2 to conclude the area of the triangle.

What is the sum of the angles of an equal lateral triangle?

The sum of the interior angles of any triangle always equals 180 degrees. With equal length sides, each angle will always be 60 degrees, irrespective of the length of the sides. Additionally, 1/2 B (base) x H (height) = A (area). If a line is drawn bisecting any interior angle to the nearest point on the opposite side (lateral), two right triangles will be produced. AND interestingly, when the two right triangles are placed next to each other along their hypotenuse, a rectangle is formed. Thus the formula for area of an equal lateral triangle can be shown to be the same as the formula for a rectangle when the length & width of the sides of the rectangle equal 1/2 the base and the height of the equal lateral triangle...QED

Area of any triangle: 0.5*base*perpendicular height

How do you work out the area of a scalene triangle?

The area of any triangle has the same formula, which is base times height, divided by 2. A scalene triangle is a triangle with three sides of unequal length, which is not important when calculating the area.

How do you find the slant height of a cone if you have surface lateral and radius?

Uisng the lateral area and tha radius, you should be able to find the height of the cone. Using the height and radius as the legs of a right triangle, use the Pythagorean Theorem. The hypotenuse is the slant height.

How do you find the height of a triangle with a base of 16meters and the side that is not the height 18meters?

If it is a right triangle, use the Pythagorean theorem. If it is iscossolese or scalene, draw line down middle, use pythagorean theorem to solve for missing side.

What is the perimeter of a scalene triangle?

The perimeter is the distance around the outside edge. It can be anything on a scalene triangle, there are no constraints except it must be bigger than zero. you can work out the area using the formula half the base times the perpendicular height. This works on all triangles

What is the formula for area for a triangular prism without the height?

It is impossible to find the area of a triangle with no height, if the triangle had no height it would not even be a triangle, just a angle.

What is the lateral area of a right prism with height 14 cm and equilateral triangle base with side 8 cm?

Using Pythagoras' theorem the height of the equilateral triangle works out as about 7 cm and so with the given dimensions it would appear to be quite difficult to work out the lateral area.
