An easy way to graph this is by doing a chart,...
so if you chose x=0 then you can see that
2(0)+2 =
2
So you'll see that x=0 while y=2
so you go to your graph and you find zero and go up 2, this is your first point
(0,2) which is also your y-intercept
next you can chose x=1
2(1)+2=
2+2=
4
so again you'll see that while x=1, y will equal to 4
so you go to your graph and plot (1,4)
and continue to do this....
BUT you could also do this quicker, if you're aware that y=mx+b
the b in y=mx+b is the y intercept, remember that when you did x=0 you found that the first plot was (0,2)...
from there you move on to the slope, the slope is represented by the m. So since 2 is the slope you will know that slope is rise over run, in this case 2/1 since 2 is not a fraction but a whole number.
once you establish that, you go back to the y-intercept point which in this case is (0,2) and count 2 going up and 1 going right thus the new point is (1,4).
Remember that the slope will be seen through out the line.
Well there you go, you plot the two, then you connect them and that's your line.
-2x=2y+5 +2x -2y -2y=2x+5 /-2 y=-1/1+2.5
8x-7 plus 2x equals 6 plus 5x plus 2?
2x + 5 = 13 2x = 8 2x/2 = 8/2 x=4
2x + 2 = 4x -1 2x = 3 x = 1.5
4x + 2 = 2x + 5 Subtract through by 2x 2x + 2 = 5 Subtract through by 2 2x = 3 Divide through by 2 x = 1.5 ■
(0,4) and (-2, 0)
-2x=2y+5 +2x -2y -2y=2x+5 /-2 y=-1/1+2.5
-2
-2
1
2x plus y = -3 (subtract 2x from both sides) y = -2x - 3 slope = -2 y-intercept = -3
The equation y = 4x^2 + 5 is a parabola
the line of symmetry would occur at x=0
8x-7 plus 2x equals 6 plus 5x plus 2?
2x + 5 = 13 2x = 8 2x/2 = 8/2 x=4
2 plus 1-x divided by.
If you mean: 2x+4y = 4 then the graph joins the points: (2, 0) and (0, 1)
