Since "hundredth" is the second decimal, you look at the third decimal. If it's 0-4 you chop it off. If it's 5-9 you chop it off anyway, but you increase the second decimal by 1. If it's a 9 it becomes 0 and you increase the first decimal by 1. So 11.297 has a 7 in the third decimal and a 9 in the second decimal. It becomes 11.30.
