Coincidence . . . this contributor just now stumbled across this question, and just
happens to also be using a CASIO fx-260solar.
Whenever you have any number in the window and you press [shift]-[square-root],
the number in the window changes to the square-root of the number that was there
before you pushed the button.
On my CASIO fx-115MS it is the "log" button you need to press the "shift" button then press log and a small "10" will appear on your calculator screen. Hope this helps...
