This is an elementary physics problem. Speed (v) equals distance (d) divided by time (t). Write that as an equation, v equals d over t. Then multiply both sides of that equation by t, and then divide both sides of the resulting equation by v. You'll get t equals d over v. In this question, t equals 40 km over 3 km per hour. The units of km cancel out; the hour(s) ends up in the numerator, and the answer is 13 1/3 hours (13 hours and 20 minutes). That's a very slow driving speed, and a rather slow walking speed. 3 km per hour is approximately 2 miles per hour. So....why didja wanta know????
