You can use it to figure out many things. One example would be to figure out how much a sale item will save you. Say your item is $25 but is on sale for 5 percent off. take 25 and minus 5 then hit the percent key. Another example would be for sales tax. If your tax is 5 percent and your buying something for $25 take the 25 and times it by 5 and hit the percent key. That will tell you how much to add to the $25
5.00
$37.50
22.99 - 25% = 17.24 25% off = 5.75
to figure percent off: calculate the percent, then subtract from the original amount.30% X $200 = $60. $200 - $60 = $140
it would be 37.80 off so the item would cost 88.19
20 percent of 75 is 15 20 percent off of 75 would be 60 If an item cost $75 and was marked at 20% off, then the price would be $60
26.40.
Multiply the cost by 0.75 and that is the sale cost of the item.

Divide sale price by full price. Example: item is $30 but is on sale for $15. 15/30=50%, so the item is 50% off
Example: 30% off of $100 = 30% discount applied to $100 = $100 - (30% * $100) = $100 - (0.30 * $100) = $100 - $30 = $70
5% off would reduce the 660 by 33 - giving you a new figure of 627.

If your item is 50 dollars and the discount is 10 percent, you can divide 50 by 10 which would be five dollars off. It the discount is 20 percent, you can take 5 times 2 which would be 10 dollars off. Always begin by figuring out a 10 percent discount and multiply from there.
