Divide the known circumference by pi to find the diameter of the circle.
To Find Diameter:Multiply circumference by 0.3183, ordivide circumference by 3.1416Other things to do with circles:To find Circumference:Multiply diameter by 3.1416, ordivide diameter by 0.3183To Find Radius:Divide diameter by 2, ormultiply circumference by 0.15915, ordivide circumference by 6.28318
The equivalent of a "perimeter" in a circle is actually called its circumference. To get the diameter, just divide the circumference by pi.
The circumference of a circle with an 81.6 cm diameter is: 256.4 cm
Circumference = 2*pi*radius or diameter*pi
The circumference of a circle is 15\piπ m. Find its radius, in meters. The Answer Should Be 7.5
Circumference : 94.2 meters Area : 706.5 square meters
Circumference of a circle = 2*pi*radius or pi*diameter Circumference = 21.67698931 or 21.7 meters to the nearest tenth
Diameter: 157/3.14 = 50 meters
Diameter of a circle = circumference/pi
Divide the known circumference by pi to find the diameter of the circle.
The process you would use to find the circumference of a circle completely depends on what information you already have about the circle. For example, you might be given the circle's area, or its radius, or its diameter, or the length of one radian of arc along the circumference, and each of those would require a different method to find the circumference. The easiest example is the one where you know the circle's diameter. In that case, simply multiply the diameter by (pi) to get the circumference. The next easiest case is the one where you have the circle's radius ... let's say the radius is 1.5 meters. Knowing that the radius is half of the diameter, you first double the radius, and find that the diameter 3.0 meters. Then you get the circumference just as you did in the first example ... multiply the diameter by (pi). With a radius of 1.5 meter, you would find that the circumference is about 9.425 meters. (rounded)
1) First, Measure the Diameter. The diameter is the distance across a circle. It can be be seen as cutting a circle in half. 2) When the diameter is too large to determine, estimate the radius. The radius can be seen as half of the diameter. Once you picture the radius, multiply it by 2. 3) Now you may find the Circumference. Once you find the Diameter of a circle, you multiply it by pi. Pi is the value of 3.14 . Once you multiply the Diameter by pi, you find the Circumference! For example, if a jogger estimated diameter of a circular path as 200 meters across, then circumference would be 200 times 3.14 . 4) Make sure to verify your units of measurement. If your Diameter is in meters, your circumference must be in meters also. You just found the Circumference of a circle!!!
circumference/pi = diameter
diameter*pi = circumference
Diameter = circumference/pi
Divide the circumference by Pi to find the diameter.
