If f(x)=x-(x+2), we could first write this as f(x)=-2. Then the function is a constant and f of anything is -2. However if you mean f(x)=x-x+2 and f(x)=2 which is also a constant.
f(-3)=2 in that case and f(-3)=-2 in the first case.
