In order to do this we need to know the rules.

when a digit is below 5 we round it down to 0

when a digit is 5 (it will then be equally far away from both ends, but we always go up)

When a digit is more than five, we always go up.

9.57 is at hand.

7 is more than or equal to 5, hence we round up.

By rounding up we write zero instead of 7 and increase the next digit by one.

resulting in:

9.60 or shorter 9.6

Regards.
