As always, when finding factors of a number that add up to another number, the easiest (although not always quickest) thing to do is factor our number into pairs, and see which ones add up to our target sum. However, here there's a twist, as our target sum is a negative. However, that's easy to deal with, since two negatives multiply together to make a positive, but still add up to a negative. So all we have to do is use negative factors. Let's get started, shall we? (We'll skip trying numbers that don't divide evenly into 1936 at all.)

-1 and -1936, add up to -1937 -- nope

-2 and -968, add up to -970 -- nope

-4 and -484, add up to -488 -- nope

-8 and -242, add up to -250 -- nope

-11 and -176, add up to -187 -- nope

-16 and -121, add up to -137 -- nope

-22 and -88, add up to -110 -- nope, but I think we're getting somewhere!

-44 and -44, add up to -88 -- yup, this is it!

So the factors of 1936 that add up to -88 are -44 and -44.
