It depends on interpretation or context, but "m" can mean 1,000 units. For example 30m = 30,000, or 2mm = 2,000,000.
But other cultures will use "K" (kilo) and "M" (mega) to represent one thousand and one million respectively. For example, 30K = 30,000, or 2M = 2,000,000.
I find it is always best to confirm with the customer/person who used the abbreviation in the first place, to be certain to avoid confusion :)
