Best Answer

It is undefined.

In infinities and infinitessimals we use limits, so we see trends as we approach a limit. However this gives different answers, The limit as A approaches infinity of A x 0 is 0. But the limit as B approaches zero of infinty x B is infinite. To be well-defined both of these answers need to be the same.

Infinity multiplied by zero results in zero. This is equivalent to writing zero an infinite number of times and then adding them together. No matter how many zeroes you add together the result will always be zero.

No. Zero multiplied or divided by anything is zero.

Is 2 divided by zero infinity?

No. Zero multiplied or divided by anything is zero.

Why is zero times infinity undefined?

Because zero multiplied by any number is always zero, but anything multiplied by infinity is infinity. Zero times infinity is being pulled both ways. Also, the definition of infinity is any number x divided by 0. When you multiply zero by infinity, the zeroes "cancel out", leaving absolutely nothing behind.

What is 1x0 equal?

When any number is multiplied by zero, the product is zero.

Why 0 divided by 0 equals 2?

It isn't. Zero is infinitely small, and dividing by zero is therefore the equivalent of multiplying by infinity. It is mathematically meaningless to ask what is zero multiplied by infinity. For that same reason, you cannot divide any number by zero. The answer will be undefined.

What is the answer of 0 divided by 0?

Undefined: You cannot divide by zero

What is 3 multiplied by infinity?

Does every real numbers have a multiplicative inverse?

You can invert almost any number by dividing 1 by that number. Zero is an exception since division by zero yields the equivalent of infinity, which is difficult to deal with by the usual rules of arithmetic. We cannot really know what the product of zero and infinity is. All other real numbers can be inverted.

What is infinity divided by 5?

Infinity divided by any finite number is infinity. Here are the rules: 1. Infinity divided by a finite number is infinite (I / f = I); 2. Any finite number divided by infinity is a number infinitesimally larger than, but never equal to, zero (f / I = 1 / I); 3. Infinity divided by infinity is one (I / I = 1), or in fact any other positive number (I / I = and so on...); 4. Infinity multiplied by zero (no infinity) is zero (I * 0 = 0); 5. Infinity divided by a positive finite number is infinity (I / +f = I); 6. Infinity divided by a negative finite number is minus infinity (I / -f = -I); 7. Infinity divided by zero is not possible; 8. Infinity plus infinity is infinity (I + I = I); 9. Zero divided by infinity (nothing divided into infinity) equals zero (0 / I = 0); 10. Infinity plus a finite number is infinity (I + f = I); 11. Infinity minus a finite number is infinity (I - f = I); but 12. Infinity minus infinity, due to the nature of infinity, can be zero, infinity, or minus infinity (I - I = -I, 0, I).

Is infinity zero?
