An undefined term is usually applied to a function (or a part) where for some values of the operands the function is not defined within the field in which it is defined. It may be defined in a bigger field.

For example, division by zero is not defined anywhere.

Square roots of negative numbers are not defined in the domain of Real numbers, but they are perfectly OK in the Complex field.

There's no fun in playing it safe. Why not try something a little unhinged?
