Actually, there are different theoretical perspectives on the concept of half of infinity. Most people say that half of infinity is infinity, just as half of 0 is 0. This is indeed correct. Infinity is on the opposite end of 0, endlessness as opposed to nothingness. Negative numbers are theoretical and nonexistent in reality, they only exist in theory, as nothing in reality can be less than nothing. In the regard of reality, infinity is half of infinity. However, in another theoretical sense, as the following answer explains, 0 is half of infinity because it is in between positive infinity and negative infinity. However, this mathematical theory can only be applied to the concept of mathematical theory itself. Because people generally prefer answers pertaining to the concept of reality than the concept of theory that can never be applied to reality, infinity is most commonly accepted as half of infinity. However, as the following answer indicates, 0 can also be viewed as half of infinity because the concept of theory does exist as well. It all depends on the context and the individual perspective.

Now some people will laugh, while others will find it makes sense.....Do you know that half of infinity is 0?

Some people will say that infinity (∞) is not a number so how can 0 which is a number can possible be its' haft:(. Well breaking it down to an even more logical approach, zero is a number because it is defined. Infinity on the other hand is not defined (undefined) meaning that it is not precisely limited, determined or distinguished. Infinity means time with no end, in this case means a number with no end….. Hence it is undefined.

But if you think about it on the number line there is a +ve side and a -ve side in which 0 is at its' center, and the number line does not have any limits so basically it runs from -∞ to +∞. Hence making 0 half of infinity at a undefined level.

This is stated at an undefined level not to make infinity a number

What is negative infinity plus negative infinity?

Negative infinity plus negative infinity equals negative infinity.

What is an open half line?

A line which has one end, but stretches off to infinity is called a ray. If we want to show an interval such as [2,infinity) which means all the numbers between two an infinity including two, we put a close dot at two and draw a ray going to the right. Similarly for (negative infinity, 2] we draw the closed dot at 2 but this time the ray goes to the left. Now if we draw an open circle, or a the out line of a dot this mean the interval (2,infinity) where we are considering all the numbers very close to two but not two itself This is an open half line and it represents an open interval.

What is infinity divided by 5?

Infinity divided by any finite number is infinity. Here are the rules: 1. Infinity divided by a finite number is infinite (I / f = I); 2. Any finite number divided by infinity is a number infinitesimally larger than, but never equal to, zero (f / I = 1 / I); 3. Infinity divided by infinity is one (I / I = 1), or in fact any other positive number (I / I = and so on...); 4. Infinity multiplied by zero (no infinity) is zero (I * 0 = 0); 5. Infinity divided by a positive finite number is infinity (I / +f = I); 6. Infinity divided by a negative finite number is minus infinity (I / -f = -I); 7. Infinity divided by zero is not possible; 8. Infinity plus infinity is infinity (I + I = I); 9. Zero divided by infinity (nothing divided into infinity) equals zero (0 / I = 0); 10. Infinity plus a finite number is infinity (I + f = I); 11. Infinity minus a finite number is infinity (I - f = I); but 12. Infinity minus infinity, due to the nature of infinity, can be zero, infinity, or minus infinity (I - I = -I, 0, I).

What is the highest number besides infinity?

Infinity is a concept, not a number. Even if it were considered such, infinity plus one is also infinity, and so infinity minus one is still infinity.

half of infinity

How many shapes have even sides?

An infinite number. A shape can have an infinite number of sides - half of these numbers will be even and half odd. Half of infinity is still infinity.

What even number is in the middle of infinity and why?

There is no "half way" to infinity. Since the term "Infinity" means boundless or no end, there is no such term as half of infinity, or the middle of infinity.

What is the median of all the numbers between 1 and infinity?

There is no median. Infinity is named so because there is no final number; numbers keep going on and on and on, so there can be no median between 1 and infinity. Or alternatively, half infinity

Is a half line ab the same as half line ba?

No. A half line (also called a ray) is a linear object which starts at the first point, and extends to infinity through the second point. So the half-line (or ray) AB starts at point A, and shoots 'through' B and continues past B to infinity. The half-line BA is the other way around: it starts at point B, and then shoots 'through' A and continues past A to infinity. These two half-lines/rays end up extending to infinity in opposite directions, so they are not the same (not congruent).

Is half of some number infinite?

If you can write the number, then any fraction of it and any multiple of it are all numbers, and none of them is infinite. On the other hand ... any fraction of infinity and any multiple of infinity is infinite.

i guess it's Tellurium 128, with a half life of 2.2e24; you may consider it a stable isotope as well.

The interval notation for the interval of real numbers?

There is more than one notation, but the open interval between a and b is often written (a,b) and the closed interval is written [a,b] where a and b are real numbers. Intervals may be half open or half closed as well such as [a,b) or (a,b]. For all real numbers, it is (-infinity,+infinity), bit use the infinity symbol instead (an 8 on its side).

What is infinity divided by eternity?

It is the speed of eternal rest, which include all kinds of speed even the speeds higher than the speed of light. You cannot divide infinity by anything else but the eternity. As some says eternity is infinite time - the same way we could say infinity is eternal space.
