Pythagoras discovered many of the properties of what would become trigonometric functions. The Pythagorean Theorum, a2 + b2 = c2 is a representation of the fundemental trigonometric identity sin2(x) + cos2(x) = 1. 1 is the hypotenuse of any right triangle, and has legs length sin(x) and cos(x) with x being one of the two non-right angles. With this in mind, the identity upon which trigonometry is based turs out to be the Pythagorean Theorum.
Trigonometry
He became a contribution because he was famous of math hope this helps if not sorry
spherical and plane trigonometry? :p
Discover of a Mathematical formula to relate the sides of a right triangle.
well... one of its uses can be as follows: you see trigonometry deals with right angles right, so through the Pythagoras theorem you can find out the sides of the triangle, without which trig would be impossible!
Thales, Democritus, Pythagoras, Aristotle, Archimedes, Euclid, Erastosthenes, Hipparchus,
One major contribution was that of the Pythagorean Theorem. a^2 + b^2 = c^2
It was in the science of trigonometry that Pythagoras' theorem states that for any right angle triangle that when its hypotenuse is squared that it is equal to the sum of its squared sides.
Trigonometry
It's similar to Pythagoras Theorem and Trigonometry.
Pythagoras was the most pivotal mathematician in the area of trigonometry. His pythagoras theorem literally redefined the way people studied right angled triangles.

Trigonometry and the Pythagoras theorem were used in the pyramids.

Use Pythagoras' theorem
The Arabs invented the modern math of trigonometry. They used Ancient Greek proofs (such as those made by Pythagoras and Demosthenes) to discover that the relationships between the lengths of sides of a right angle triangle were consistent when the angles were consistent. They proved methods to derive the proper value relationships, resulting in the trigonometry tables that have now been plugged into in every scientific calculator.
