"EE" stands for "Enter Exponent". After you enter some normal number, if you hit "EE" and then some digit, your normal number is multiplied by 10digit power.
For example:

-- then touch ' EE ' and ' 6 '
-- The display shows something like ' 4.62 06 ' .
-- The number you're actually working with now is ( 4.62 x 106 ). That's 4.62 million.
That depends on what type of calculator your have. But ee is the same thing as multiplying by 10 to a power. For example: 3ee4 is the same as 3x104

If you have Windows 7, as do I, then change the calculator to scientific mode, and there is a cube roots button, type in the number you want, and hit that button. If you are talking about a standard handheld calculator, most don't have it, but the TI scientific ones do!
