We're assuming the table and cloth are round? The cloth is a circle with a diameter of 90 inches - 30 from the floor to the table, 30 more across the table, and 30 more to get back down to the floor. The circumference of a circle is pi times the diameter. Do the math!
If you let it hang down about 6 inches on both sides, that would be about right; so I would go with a 72 inch square table cloth.
At least: pi*0.75*0.75 = 1.767 square meters rounded to 3 decimal places The circumference of the table is: 1.5*pi
84 inches round tablecloth gives a drop of 12 inches for 60 inch round table. If you want the drop up to the ground,120 inches round tablecloth is perfect fit. (above tablecloth sizes is applicable only to the std height table 29 inches)
Well, isn't that just a happy little problem to solve! If a 24-inch strip shrinks to 22 inches, that's a difference of 2 inches. So, for a 36-inch strip, you can expect it to shrink by the same proportion, which means it would shrink by 2/24 or 1/12 of its length. Therefore, a 36-inch strip would shrink by 3 inches, leaving you with a final length of 33 inches after washing. Happy shrinking!
damask
The diameter is 55 inches.
With a drop all around the edge of 2 inches one can safely add that 2 inches to the radius as if you think of setting the cloth on the floor and the 2 inches would be flatly added. So..., Circumference = 2*pi*r Circumference = 2*pi*(17 inches) = 107 inches =========

Since round table cloths are measured on the diameter, not the circumference, you would fold it in half twice, measure 35 inches (half of 70) from the center of the cloth, add 1 1/2 inches for the hem, and that is where you start your cut. You don't measure up from the bottom because you can't be sure if they added the hem before or after their measurement.
A yard is 36 inches x 36 inches so there would be 1296 square inches in a yard of cloth.
One sq yd of cloth has 1296 square inches in it

If the table cloth is 82 inches, it would fit a table from 60 to 70 inches long.
in medieval times a standard bolt of cloth was 40 cloth-yards (37 inches) in length
