The average mean is the same thing as the average and/or mean. Its where you add up all the numbers and the divide by the amount of numbers you added. for example: if you have five numbers, you add up all the numbers and divide by five.

2+3+2+6+4=17

17/5=3.4

Therefore; the average is 3.4

It is also written as (2+3+2+6+4) / 5 = 3.4 where 5 is the denominator in the equation.
