The answer to this question is very hard to grasp and I am still not entirely sure I have got this right. Below is the list of statements that I believe to be true at the current time;

  • Infinity is certainly not the largest natural number. It is not a counting number, therefore it is not a natural number.
  • The Greek symbol omega is used to represent the first uncountable ordinal number. This would imply that omega is the first number after the one you are looking for.
  • There is in fact no largest natural number, it is a purely conceptual number, the last number you could count to.
