An HCF of 5 means that the numbers have a common prime factor of 5, but nothing else. A LCM of 60 means the numbers have between them the factors 2, 2, 3 and 5. The 2s cannot be split or the HCF would be higher, so both must go to one number. Assuming the numbers aren't just 60 and 5, the three must go to the other number, giving us:

3x5 and 2x2x5

=15 and 20

The LCM of two numbers is twice their HCF?

5 and 10 lcm- 10 and hcf= 5

Obtain two numbers their LCM is 20 and their HCF is 300?

Factorize the LCM 20 = 2 x 2 x 5 Factorize the HCF 300 = 2 x 2x3x5x5 The HCF is the common factor for both numbers whereas the LCM contains all the unique factors of both numbers. So, 2 x 2x5 or 20 is a common factor for both numbers. The factors remaining are 3 and 5. So, 3 is a factor of one number and 5 is the factor of the second number. The first number = 20x 3 = 60 The second number = 20x 5 = 100 So 60 and 100 are two numbers Answer = 60 and 100

What are 2 numbers that have an LCM of 75 and HCF of 5?

What is the hcf and lcm of 5 and 15?

hcf(5, 15) = 5 lcm(5, 15) = 15.

Can two numbers have 20 as HCF and 535 as LCM?

HCF of 20 means the two numbers have common prime factors of 2, 2 and 5. However, LCM of 535 means that both of the numbers are odd. This cannot be the case if they have a prime factor of 2. Thus two numbers cannot have 20 as hcf and 535 as lcm.

What is the HCF and LCM of 5 and 7?

What is the least common multiple of 65 and 155?

LCM of two numbers = product/HCF; 65 = 5 x 13, 155 = 5 x 31 so HCF is 5 and LCM is 65 x 155/5 = 2015

What 2 pair of numbers whose LCM is less than the product of the 2 numbers?

Any two numbers that have a common factor greater than 1 will have a LCM less than their product, eg: LCM(10, 15) = 30 < 10 x 15 = 150 (since HCF(10, 15) = 5) LCM(6, 10) = 30 < 6 x 10 = 60 (since HCF(6, 10) = 2) LCM(18, 27) = 54 < 18 x 27 = 486 (since HCF(18, 27) = 9)

What LCM could go into 830 and 45?

The LCM will be larger than those numbers, i.e. 4740. The HCF (GCF) is 5
