Oh, dude, like half an inch is like half the size of an inch, right? So, like, common household items that measure half an inch could be things like a pencil eraser, a button, or even a standard washer. But hey, who's really measuring stuff that precisely around the house anyway?
No. Half a centimetre is not the same size as half a kilometre.

Bolts are categorised by their thread size. The standard socket size for a bolt with a three quarter inch thread is 1 and one eighth inches. Heavy head bolts use a one and a quarter inch socket.
The size is probably an half inch bolt to 3/4 bolt.
5/8 inch socket will fit the bolt and nut that hold the starter on.
A 27mm socket is typically a standard size used for 1-inch drive socket wrenches. You would need a 1-inch drive socket to fit a 27mm bolt or nut.

The socket diameter of a bolt refers to the width of the opening in the head of the bolt for a socket or wrench to fit. It is typically determined by the size of the bolt and the type of socket needed for installation or removal. Common socket diameters for bolts range from 8mm to 24mm.

What size Allen socket is needed to remove bolt from caliper on 2004 ford escape
Be careful to put the calipers on the correct sides. The bleeder fittings must be up when the caliper is being installed correctly. If not, you will not be able to correctly bleed the brakes. You'll need a 10 millimeter socket or wrench, an 18 millimeter or a 3/4" socket, with a half inch drive, a half inch drive socket wrench and a half inch drive breaker bar. The calipers are held with two 18 millimeter bolts on each caliper. One bolt is long and the other is short. They both bolt through the caliper. There is a third bolt this size holding the steering control arm and does not need to be undone. There is also a10 millimeter bolt holding the rubber hydraulic line to the back of the caliper. It has two copper washers, one on each side of the fitting that are bolted to the caliper.
you have to remove the bolt just to the left of the water pump bolt. its the same size as the water pump bolt,it is accessed thru one of the holes in the steering pump pulley.you need a deep socket. a 2 and a half inch extension on a half inch drive ratchet was too long. i wound up using a 3 inch extension with vise grips on the shank. once you get that bolt out you can push the steering pump back. even so it was still a pain to get a socket on the water pump bolt, not quite enough clearance but it can be done and i used thin wall socket. putting it back isn't much better. you have to push the steering pump ahead while pushing on the bolt until you find the hole just keep fiddlin with it youll get it. i just did mine today. good luck
