To the right
Because in any given measurement, there are more of the smaller units than bigger units. There are less than 2 metres in my height (1.78 m). But in a smaller unit, eg centimetre, there are is 178 of them. That is a staggering 1780000 micrometres tall :) But, then again, that is only 0.00178 kilometres :(
No a decimal is smaller than a whole number.
Grams are a measurement of weight, decagrams are a shapes
Because if you measure the same amount but with a smaller unit, you expect towind up with a bigger number of them. For example, there are more teaspoons ofwater in a swimming pool than gallons of water in the same pool.If you expect to have a bigger number after converting the units, then multiplicationis definitely the way to go.
No number is bigger than 4.50 is and less than 4.25 is.
yes
You multiply
No, you multiply.
Subtract the smaller one from the bigger one, and then put a minus sign before the answer.
Since there are 100 cm in 1 m, you must divide 12 by 100. This gives you 12/100, which can be reduced to 3/25, or 0.12 in decimal form. Whenever you are converting in metric units, you only have to move the decimal based on the different measurements. In this case, a meter is 100 centimeters, so the decimal is moved two places over. Which direction you move it depends on which way you are converting. Converting from a smaller size to a bigger one requires you to move the decimal to the left, and converting from a larger size to a smaller one requires you to move the decimal to the right, adding zeroes as necessary.
The decimal would go left. For example: 18.0: Smaller: 1.8 Bigger: 180

7.5 is bigger than 5.77 but .5 is smaller than .77 so 5.77 has the bigger decimal than 7.5

It need not be. 1.5 * 6 = 9, which is bigger than 6, not smaller.
Converting from litres to millilitres you move the decimal 3 places to the right as the number is getting 1000 times bigger (multiply by 1000)
