We all know that 1 is whole number, so when you subtract 1 from 1 the result is 0. Subtraction of 2 whole numbers results also in whole number which in our case is 0. (example: 12-2=10). any number that is a decimal or a fraction is NOT a whole number, so because 0 isn't a fraction or have a decimal point with a number after it, it is therefore a whole number
