Is 130 IQ for a 7 year old child genius?

Opinions of contributors:The short answer is that it depends on the test and that even then a high IQ score (whether it be 130 or 148) demonstrates high intelligence, but does not prove genius. IQ tests given to children are ranked depending on the age of the child at the time the test is taken, which makes the tests less reliable than those based on an adult scale. The term genius is subjective and people are not normally considered geniuses based on a standardized test score alone. However, that would be a very smart 7 year old. Many people do not understand that IQ measurement is based on percentiles and standard deviations and not on the actual score. For example, a score of 140 on the Wechsler would be exceedingly rare (roughly 1 in 350+), while a score on the Cattell Culture Fair (an equally valid scale) would be less rare (roughly 1 in 20). The highly gifted range is usually considered to be two standard deviations above the norm.Opinion:Geniuses and prodigies are actually the people who are considered to be above the two standard deviation ceiling. While it is exceedingly high - it is not technically 'genius', which is higher than 140.Care should be taken to properly encourage - without pressuring - the child's development.Sometimes a child, particularly one that young, gets a high level once and then in later tests shows lower levels. This can just be a one-off blip.

Is 89 a bad IQ score for a 6 year old child?

First, IQ tests are designed so that your score takes your age into account. This means that (ideally) a person exactly as smart as you, but older or younger than you should get the exact same score. (So if a person exactly as smart as you, but 30 years old took an IQ test, they should also get 107).Now for the main part of your question. A score of 106 is less than one standard deviation above the norm (average). This means you scored higher than approximately 60% of people. So, for every hundred people you meet, on average, you are smarter than 60 of them and 39 are smarter than you.You should be careful though if you took the test off a website or some other place online it is most likely not accurate. The only way to get a real IQ test that is reliable and valid (meaning, it measures your intelligence accurately) is to get professionally tested through a mental health professional using a carefully researched and designed measure. For someone your age the most likely test they would use is the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-R) which is used to test intelligence in children aged 6 to 16.And remember, IQ is just a measure of one kind of intelligence, and your results can be affected by things such as ADHD or learning disabilities.

What is the IQ level which is considered to be the beginning of the genius?

a person with IQ above 110 is considered to be geniusThe answer to this question depends entirely onWhat you use to define a genius. What scale you use.If you consider that only mathematics knowlege or logical thinking makes you a genius, then why is Michealangelo (The artist) described as a genius? Is somebody born a thousand years ago more or less intelligent than you just because you have a broader field of knowlege? How do you fit a savant into your IQ test? They may be able to memorise and play a piano concerto instantly but cant add 2 +2 or even ties their own shoelaces. The truth is that most people have difficulty describing the question let alone answering it with a test. therefore most IQ tests are meaningless unless designed to specifically test a particular ability.
