A square meter is a unit of area, not length. You cannot say how long it is.
As an area, it is a square with sides of length 1 meter.
If you want an example: a single bed is about 1m x 2m, so a square meter is about half the size of a single bed.

That doesn't make sense. Square meter is 2D. Cubic meter is 3D. To attempt to answer your question... A square meter is one meter long and one meter wide. A cubic meter is one meter long, one meter wide, and one meter tall.
If the perimeter of a square building is 812 meter then each side is 203 meter long
6300 square meters = 67,812.63 square feet
A cubic meter is one square meter on each side of a cube. Think of a box which is one meter long on each side. A square meter has no height, so you can't really say how many square meters are in a cubic meters.

A better length question: How long in centimeters is a meter? 100 centimeters equals 1 meter. A better areaquestion: How large in square centimeters is a square meter? 100 times 100 = 10,000 square centimeters equals 1 square meter.
A square meter is quite a bit larger then a square centimeter. For example the area of a square with sides 1 meter long (about three feet) is a square meter. A square with sides 1 centimeter long (a little less then a half inch) is a square centimeter. You could fit 10,000 square centimeters in 1 square meter. They are similar in that they are both measures of area in the metric system.
One square meter is one meter long by one meter wide, ie; two dimensional. One cubic meter is one meter long by one meter wide by one meter high, ie; three dimensional. So no, one square meter is not the same as one cubic meter.
If the area of a square is 1 square meter, then there is one meter on each side. Since there are 100 centimeters in a meter, then there are 100 centimeters on each side.
