As it is a marble slab, it could be supposed that the shape is fairly regular. So multiplying length by width will give the square area of the slab. It could be that the square area is not required, and the length and width is needed simply to fit the marble slab into a recess or is to be used as a work-surface , etc. But, either way, a steel tape measure is usually required to measure the marble slab.

It depends on the thickness of slab. A yard of cement contains 9 cubic feet. Thus, it would cover 9 square feet if the slab was 1 foot thick. For a 4 inch thick slab, it would cover 3 times as much area, or 27 square feet.

well , reinforcement steel required for slab is nearly 0.7 to 0.8% of the volume of concrete so if concrete is 1 cum then steel will be 1*0.7/100 =0.007 but density of steel is 7850 kg/ cum so 0.007*7850=54.95 say 55 kg per cum so steel required to reinforce 1 cum concrete for slab is approximately 55 kgs.
this a type of beam which contain the depth of slab in its depth. and if you want to decrease the depth of beam then just design it again reducing the depth from 12 inch to 8 inch it will change the required area of steel and grade of concrete. thats it
