the fraction is 3/10
3/10
The denominator tells you the total of the pieces in the fraction.
The denominator.
That must be one of the most pointless questions that I have ever seen. The answer depends on how sharp a knife you have and on how much patience you have. Any piece can be cut in two, thereby increasing the total number of pieces (by one) and you can keep on at it all night - and the following day. A more interesting exercise might be to find out how many pieces you can get out of one pizza.
The three is the numerator, representing how many pieces are in the fraction. For example, in 3/4, the four is how many pieces are in total for the whole, the three represents how many pieces are gone, or shaded, or there.
It is the denominator of the original fraction. If the fraction has been simplified you have no way to get back to the total.
One sixth or 1/6...assuming the pizza was cut into 6 slices. If not, then the fraction left would be: (total # of slices cut - 5)/total # of slices cut
The denominator tells you the total of the pieces in the fraction.

The total area of pizza is given by the formula A = pi x r2 where r is the radius. So the total area of the pizza is approximately 144(pi) or 452.39 square inches, and if cut into 16 pieces will yield approximately 28.27 square inches per slice.
Total pizza sales in the United States?
A fraction is a way of representing division of a 'whole' into 'parts'. The Numerator is the number of parts chosen, and the Denominator is the total number of parts. A fraction is a division problem, basically:½ means "one divided by two"¾ means "three divided by four"Another way of thinking of it is:½ "one of two pieces" and¾ "three of four pieces"it is 7.10
I think you should do some math. Assume every person will eat up to 2 pieces, so that is 350 slices of pizza. Typical Pizza is sliced up in 8 pieces so divide 350 slices by 8 = 43.75 round up 44 pizza's total. Now for toppings that is entirely up to you. :)
It is the denominator of the original fraction. If the fraction has been simplified you have no way to get back to the total.
Multiply the whole nomber of total points by the fraction.
