OK, the thousands thousandths place is complicated. Here's an example I'll use for reference.
3251.7842
We know that the decimal is like a base- where you count from 10, 100, 1000, 10,000... etc. In the thousandths word, the ths is the ending that means you go to the left of the decimal. So the numbers:
7- tenths
8-hundredths
4-thousandths
2-ten thousandths Get it? So if I had 47.935 the number 5 would be in the thousandths place. Hope this helped.
