It is a formula which is valid only for rectangles (or squares). For all other plane shapes it is wrong.
The area equals the base times the height.
Width times Height equals Area
The area of a rectangle is A=bh (area equals base times height)The area of a triangle is A=(bh)/2 (area equals half base times height)The area of a circle is A=πr^2 (area equals pi times the square of the radius.
Volume equals area times height
The area of a triangle is half the base times height.
Area equals base times height. The perimeter is 4 times the length of one side.
Area equals 1/2 of the base times the height.
2 times pi times the radius squared plus 2 times pi times the radius times the height equals surface area of a cylinder :]
Volume is Base times height. Multiply the area of the base of the object (use Pi times the square of the radius) times the height.
area of triangle: area equals base times height devided by two! a=bxh/2 a=40in b=20in THE ANSWER IS 4in as the height!
Area equals one half times the base times the height, so in this case: Area = (1/2)*3*3 = 9/2 = 4.5 square units.
First you find the area of the base which is a pentagon. Then you multiply it by the height. So base times height equals volume.
