There is no greatest common multiple. Ever!
If x were the greatest common multiple, then what about 2x?
Since x is a multiple of 16 and 24 then so also is 2x, so that 2x is a COMMON multiple. And it would certainly be greater that x. So 2x is a common multiple that is greater than the greatest common multiple. What?!
The Greatest Common Divisor (GCD) for 16 24 is 8
One way to solve this is to find the least common multiple of two of the numbers, and then find the least common multiple of that result with the third number. The least common multiple of two numbers is their product divided by their greatest common factor. The greatest common factor of 10 and 16 is 2, so the least common multiple is 10 x 16 ÷ 2 = 80.The greatest common factor of 80 and 24 is 8, so the least common multiple is 80 x 24 ÷ 8 = 240.The least common multiple of 10, 16, and 24 is 240.Another way to solve this is to find the prime factors of each number, then choose the highest power of each factor and multiply them together. The prime factors of 10 are 2 and 5.The prime factors of 16 are 2, 2, 2, and 2, which is 24.The prime factors of 24 are 2, 2, 2, and 3, which is 23 and 3.The highest power of 2 is 24, the highest power of 3 is 3, and the highest power of 5 is 5. So, the least common multiple is 24 x 3 x 5 = 16 x 3 x 5 = 240.
The greatest common factor of the numbers 16 and 24 is 8.
Least Common Multiple (LCM) for 16 24 is 48.
1 is the greatest common multiple of the numbers listed. 23 is a prime number & is only divisible by itself & 1. what is the greatest common multiple of 2?
There is no such thing as the smallest common factor. I guess the smallest common factor (integers only) for 16 and 24 would be -8. But that's just the negative version of the greatest common factor. I think you meant to ask either what is the smallest common multiple of 16 and 24 or what is the greatest common factor of 16 and 24. The greatest common factor of 16 and 24 is 8. The smallest common multiple of 16 and 24 is 48.
The greatest common multiple would have a countless number of digits, but the least common multiple of 6, 16, and 44 is 528 (24 x 3 x 11).
Infinity but their lowest common multiple is 24
The least common multiple of 16 , 24 = 48
The Greatest Common Divisor (GCD) for 16 24 is 8
The least common multiple of 12, 16, and 24 is 48.48
Least Common Multiple (LCM) for 16 24 is 48.
The greatest common multiple of any set of integers is infinite.
The greatest common multiple of any set of integers is infinite.
The least common multiple of 16 , 18 , 24 = 144
48 is the least common multiple of 2, 16, and 24.
The greatest common multiple is an infinite number and will be of no use in simplifying fractions. What you want is the greatest common factor, known as the GCF. Take a fraction like 16/24. The GCF of 16 and 24 is 8. Take 8 out of both of those numbers and get 2/3, the simplest form.
