Getting a unit rate basically involves dividing one quantity by another quantity. In this case, it would make sense to divide the number of miles by the number of hours; that would give you a number of miles per hour, in other words, a speed.You could also divide the hours the other way round; in this case, you would get hours per mile - in other words, the number of hours it takes you (on average, in any case) to advance a mile. It isn't very common to divide this way, though.
