No it will not change. Density is mass divided by volume. Since the ratio of the mass is 1/2 and the volume ratio is 1/2, there is no change. The same holds true no matter how you cut the block, as both mass and volume change proportionally the same.

No. Assuming that the block was consistently dense prior to the cutting, the density would not change by an act of cutting. Density is the division of mass by volume. So half of the mass with half of the volume would be the same density. 0.5a/0.5b = a/b .

Explain why the following reasoning is wrong. You should be heavier at midnight and lighter at noon?

This reasoning is incorrect because weight is dependent on the gravitational force acting on an object, which remains constant throughout the day. Any perceived weight fluctuations could be due to factors like hydration levels, food intake, or clothing, not the time of day.

Does the shape of an object change its density?

Changing the shape CAN change the density. If you change it into a smaller shape, then you increase the density. However the mass will not change.

Is a change in density a chemical change?

Density is a physical property.

How do you change density?

To change density there are three ways. You can change the shape, mass or volume of the object
